Information Without Another Rabbit Hole

Parents often know when they want more information, even if they do not know exactly what they are looking for yet.

Maybe you have a developmental question.

Maybe you are trying to understand what different therapies do.

Maybe you want to connect with parents who have been through something similar.

Or maybe you simply want a reliable place to continue learning.

KAC helps organize those resources so you can explore them in one place.

Find Parent Support & Developmental Resources

You Don't Need to Have the Right Words Yet

Parents often begin their search with a feeling rather than a professional term.

“Something seems harder than it should.”

“I don’t know if this is something I should ask about.”

“Everyone keeps telling me to wait, but I still have questions.”

“I just want to know what other options are out there.”

Those are valid places to begin a search.

Kids Abilities Connect was created to help make the next part easier by giving families somewhere to learn about providers, developmental support, community programs, and other resources.

From Professional Knowledge to Parent Experience

Kids Abilities Connect founder Kelsey brings the perspective of both a school psychologist and a parent.

Working with families professionally provided an understanding of child development and the systems families navigate.

Becoming a parent added something different: the experience of being the person doing the searching.

KAC grew from the realization that even when you understand the terminology, finding the right local provider, activity, program, or resource can still take a tremendous amount of time.

This site is designed to make those connections easier for other families.

Support Can Look Different for Every Family

For one parent, support might mean finding the right pediatric provider.

For another, it might be connecting with a parent group.

It could mean learning more about a developmental topic, finding an inclusive activity, or simply discovering another family that understands.

There is no single way to use Kids Abilities Connect.
